Comparable Options for the UN55C8000
There is a selection of models within this price range and even some with lower price tags and no clicking issues. Also from Samsung, the PN58c8000 Plasma 3D TV may not be as pretty and thin as the UN55c8000, but it delivers impressive 3D function, excellent picture quality and no report of clicking or blank screens. For 3D capabilities on a standard LCD set (backlit by CCFL), Samsung also carries the LN46c750 LCD 3D model at almost half the price of the UN55c8000.
But 55 inches is a substantial set and it may be hard to come down to that size. With generous discounts off of the list price and free shipping available, now is definitely a great time to upgrade to a 3D LED set by Samsung. Despite scattered negative reports, the UN55c8000 is well rated overall and is an impressive first round play by the manufacturer.
Watch for many more titles to be released in 3D DVDs and Blu-rays. As the phenomenon catches on, broadcasts will begin to catch on and the industry will witness a surge of this technology.
